we are family

It’s the secret to your success.

Great coaching, great facilities, and great programming are important, but it’s the comradery and support of those around you that has always made FXT special. Sometimes it’s celebrating a new personal record. Sometimes it’s getting you through that toughest workout, or your first ever. Or sometimes just holding you accountable. Your FXT family will always be here to support you in pursuit of all your health and fitness goals.

Keith Gulledge

Keith has been helping clients improve their health and fitness for more than a decade. Keith was led to health and fitness like most folks, through poor lifestyle and nutritional habits, that led to health issues. When he began addressing those through diet and exercise, he discovered his true passion. He began personal training in Louisiana, before he and his wife took a leap. They moved home to the wiregrass and opened their first gym. After 6 years, they discovered CrossFit. It wasn’t long before they opened CrossFIt FXT in 2014. Keith serves as a CrossFit, Olympic Lifting, and One on One coach. He has logged more than 15,000 hours coaching athletes from all backgrounds. He would love to help you achieve your goals too.

Brett’s favorite thing about Crossfit is seeing people accomplish things they never imagined being able to do. His advice to those who are new to Crossfit is to fall in love with the process, to realize that Crossfit is a journey and not just an experience. You’ll find Brett  coaching FXT Kids along with Crossfit. When you come to FXT, make sure you come find him because he loves to talk!

Her favorite Crossfit movements to teach are wall balls (shots and cleans) and dumbbell snatches, but when working out herself, she likes to do any of the Olympic lifts and working with kettlebells. One of her favorite things about coaching is encouraging others to push past their limits and showing them what they can really do. Her advice to those who are new to Crossfit is to not be scared, that everything can be modified. She thinks it is really important to have the confidence that you CAN do Crossfit! When Amanda is not lifting or watching the Dallas Cowboys, you’ll find her at FXT coaching Unloaded on Tuesdays at 6 PM and Thursdays at 4 & 6 PM as well as backing up CrossFit.  Amanda also coaches a group dedicated to our servicemen and women, Team RWB, every Thursday with her Unloaded group. FXT is proud to be a part of this program so you can imagine the pride Amanda has coaching them. Amanda can also assist you in kinesio taping; she has been proficient for 7 years! Having Amanda’s experience and wealth of knowledge is a major plus, lol even when she puts you in crazy positions for mobility and you feel like a pretzel!!

Genna “G” Speed

Genna is 39 years old and is a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, responsible for training healthcare providers to care for critically injured service members in the back of an aircraft. Her fitness journey began in high school, where she played soccer and ran track, and her 17 years in the Army has kept her extremely active. When Genna is not watching college football or taking a good power nap, she is in the gym working on snatches and bar muscle ups. When she is coaching, she loves to teach snatches. Her favorite part of coaching is helping athletes overcome their preconceived notions of what their bodies can do. If new to crossfit, Genna wants you to focus on your journey, not the journey of the athlete who is next to you; everybody’s path is different. You will find Genna in the afternoon classes and coaching most Saturdays. When you come to FXT, ask Genna about Whole 30!

Her favorite part of coaching is seeing people set goals and achieve things they never thought were possible. She believes that the body and mind are powerful, and she loves the fact that crossfit challenges people to be the best versions of themselves. Carrie’s favorite movements to coach are handstands and pull ups. While she is training herself, her favorite movements are OHS and any type of handstands. When Carrie is not at the gym, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two pit bulls, cooking, and learning new skills (especially gymnastic skills!). You can find Carrie at FXT in the early morning, mid-morning, and evening classes. She also teaches gymnastics on Tuesdays and hangs out in the back coaching the 4-6 year olds. When you come to FXT, be sure to ask Carrie about her time working in Africa with Watoto, or you can strike up a conversation with her about pit bulls!

Keira Kohls

Nickname: KK

Coaching style: brutally honest, but sincere.

Favorite coaching tip: suck less :)

I'm a military brat mostly from Colorado Springs, CO. Grew up playing soccer, volleyball, basketball and running track. I ran the 400m hurdles at University of Northern Colorado and got my Sports and Exercise Science Bachelors degree. I became a certified personal trainer through NCSF and started personal training in 2011 at 24 Hour Fitness. I moved to Clarksville, TN where I got my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. The army has since then moved my husband, Pat, and I to South Carolina where we had our crazy child, Jax. Alabama will be our home for the next year and a half.

How I got started in CrossFit:

I coached high school volleyball in TN and the head coach did CrossFit out of her friend's garage. She  always bugged me to come and try it. I finally folded and my first workout was Fight Gone Bad (which I actually scaled) and I only completed about two rounds before I thought I was going to die. I hated it and was mostly embarrassed because I thought I was in shape. I didn’t do CrossFit for 2 years after that! In 2014, I went back and did a charity workout. I drank the Kool-Aid and from there got my Level 1 CrossFit Trainer Certificate in 2014. I fell in love with Olympic Lifting and received my USAW Coaching Certification in 2015. I loved gymnastics and went to the CF gymnastics course in 2018. Before moving to Alabama in February of this year I got my Level 2 CrossFit Trainer certificate.

What I like most about CrossFit:

I love the community and competition aspects of CrossFit. Pat and I usually end up making life long friends from each box we go to. The community is a big part of why we love CrossFit. I grew up playing so many different sports and competing at anything I could. After college was over, I needed something to keep that competitive drive going. CrossFit is a great way to compete with others as well as myself.

Kristle Cline

Kristle was born and raised in Texas. She holds a BBA and MBA from Houston State University.

“I began my crossfit journey in 2012 under 2x Crossfit Competitor Rob Powell of Crossfit Ansbach in Germany. I fell in love with the sport and never looked back.” Kris later moved to Fort Rucker, AL where she coached for Crossfit Apeiron. In 2014 the military moved her family to Georgia where she became part of the Crossfit Hightide team. In 2016, she began coaching at FXT in Enterprise, AL where she began a kids program before moving north and joining the Corn Country team in Lafayette, IN. Within a year she is back here at FXT and coaching CrossFit again with us. As a coach, she has a deep passion for helping others with their fitness journey.

“I’m very grateful to have crossfit families around the world. The mentors and friends I have gained along the way have made me the person, athlete, and coach I am today.”

We are so lucky to have Kris as a part of our FXT family again!!

Tracie Gulledge

Co Owner/Manager

Tracie grew up very active in gymnastics, dance and cheerleading so fitness has always been part of her life. While living in Louisiana, she & her husband Keith rededicated themselves to health & fitness. They decided to make their passion a reality. Tracie & her family moved back to the Wiregrass and opened Anytime Fitness In 2009.

She started her CrossFit journey in 2014, and by the end of the year, her & Keith, started CrossFit FXT. Tracie took 1st place in the Masters Garage Games Southeast Division in her age category that year, held at CrossFit Gulf Breeze in Florida. After that, she was on a mission to share her love for functional fitness even more. Winning wasn’t the highlight she says, pushing yourself beyond what you could ever imagine is the true reward. Once you stop worrying what your body looks like and focus on what it can do, your mindset, your drive, your body, will be strong, healthy and happy.

Tracie’s most favorite thing about working at FXT are the relationships she builds with athletes. So many awesome people in Enterprise!! Being in a military town it sometimes seems like a revolving door but she always thinks how awesome it is to be able to meet so many from all over. Knowing they are the ones who are protecting my family, myself and my freedoms in our country and having a son who serves, makes this a mission of hers to make sure everyone at FXT feels at home. Maybe that’s how she got the nickname “ Box Mama”?!

Tracie is old school and loves the barbell on her back for squats and could deadlift everyday! Those two movements along with pull ups are important to quality of life she says, so work them as much as you can. She loves seeing people get out of their comfort zone and do things they never thought they could. Her advice to anyone in  any fitness program, is take one day at a time, give 100% and be mindful you are working on you and your fitness journey...so trust the process.

She is the Co owner and manager of FXT but definitely has many roles so you will find her everywhere! Tracie doesn’t meet a stranger and loves to talk so if you are new, lost or need some help or accountability, Box Mama is always there to help.

Crystal Ikegwuonu

Crystal is 36 years old and is a U.S. Army medic and certified paramedic. She has been doing Crossfit for 7 years and has been instructing for 4 years. While working out, Crystal loves to do wall balls, but she loves to teach deadlifts. One of her favorite things about coaching is being able to help people achieve their goals. Her advice to those who are new to Crossfit is to be humble. You will find Crystal coaching and crossfitting during the week in the afternoon classes. Crystal also coaches a Roller Derby girl group on Thursday nights which is pretty awesome too.

When you come to FXT, Crystal can also help you with your nutrition, specifically with RP and Paleo.

Jennifer Kruse

“The world has enough followers. Be a game changer.”

Jennifer is 42 years old and has been doing crossfit since 2009, which is also when she received her L1 certification. She is a mom and an artist, who loves paint and does hand lettering. Jennifer began her fitness journey with weightlifting, and became deeply involved when she joined the Army in 1998. She was given the duty of training overweight soldiers and those who had not passed their fitness tests, and she was a guide for soldiers who were pregnant. She continued working with people as a personal trainer once her service in the Army was completed. Since beginning crossfit, she has been involved in several competitions, earning 1st place in two competitions and 2nd place in another competition. Jennifer’s favorite crossfit movement to do and to teach is rowing. Her favorite thing about crossfit is to encourage others and to teach them to speak encouragement to themselves. She loves to work with women, to empower them into doing more than what they believe they are capable of and seeing them become examples to others. If you are new to crossfit, Jennifer wants to remind you to not compare yourself to others; you are your own unique person, and you need time and grace to grow into this sport because each of us are on our own journey!

You can find Jenn coaching in our FXT Unloaded. Program.

Matt Patterson

"There is nothing impossible to him who will try." Alexander the Great.

Matt is 35 years old and is a Chinook Helicopter Standardization Instructor for the U.S. Army. Matt grew up playing baseball and basketball, but it was after joining the military that he got involved in strength sports. Matt began his fitness journey by competing in strongman and powerlifting meets, as well as becoming a known name in the Scottish Highland games community, so if you see him in a kilt don’t be alarmed. When Matt is not throwing heavy things, he enjoys coaching his four daughters in fitness, sports, and life. His favorite aspect of coaching is watching clients grow and exceed their expectations of themselves. His advice for those new to CrossFit is to show up with an open mind, a little determination, be coachable, and have fun! You can find Matt most days at FXT in the Afternoons @ the 4 pm and 5 pm classes.

Star Mason

“You can do anything for ___ amount of time.”

Star is 37 years old and has been doing crossfit for 5 ½ years. She has been coaching for over a year and has made coaching focus each day. Star was not athletic growing up, and she avoided lifting weights because she was under the impression that it “made girls big.” Fortunately, her husband introduced her to crossfit, and she now knows the truth! Star loves to do and to teach burpees. The thing she loves most about coaching is meeting new people and seeing athletes accomplish their goals. If you are new to crossfit, Star’s advice to you is this: we are here to have fun, meet new people, and get a solid workout. Everyone who starts out is new, and no one expects you to come in on your first day and know everything. You can find Star at FXT on most days, coaching, assisting or working out!! Even though she says she is not a specialist, Star is very knowledgeable about RP Strength.  When you see her, feel free to give her a nice sweaty hug, because once you walk through the doors, you will instantly be friends with her!

David Eddins

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with His stripes we are healed.” - Isaiah 53:3

David is 36 years old and is a Distribution Specialist with Alabama Power. He has been doing Crossfit for 5 years and has been coaching for 3 years. David has been involved in sports since high school, where he received the Mr. Football award. Once he graduated, David continued his involvement by coaching recreational sports with the city’s youth department. Along with being a Crossfit coach , David is also a certified soccer coach for the U9 and U11 age groups. He is a family man, who is devoted to God and his two daughters. David’s favorite Crossfit movement while coaching and working out himself are barbell cleans. His favorite thing about coaching is watching people improve, seeing their faces when they achieve a personal goal or accomplish something they never thought they could do. David’s advice to those who are new to Crossfit is to leave your pride outside of the gym, to come in with a clear mind and a clean heart. When David is not riding ATV’s or golfing, you’ll find him at FXT coaching on Friday afternoons. When you come to FXT, David can also help you with the RP nutrition program.

Monica Warren

Monica Warren is 29 years old and has been involved in fitness and athletics for most of her life. She was an elite runner in high school and college, running track and cross country competitively for 4 years. She’s completed 3 half marathons and 3 Tough Mudders, but hung up her running shoes to try other fitness pursuits. She began personal training and teaching multiple group exercise fitness classes in college, and found Crossfit in that time. A year after doing Crossfit, she went on to become a coach, and that has been one of her biggest passions. Working with kids is also a passion of hers, and got her degree in Elementary education. She now utilizes both of these passions as an FXT kids coach! She loves getting to help others get fit and healthy all while having a good time. Some fun facts about Monica are that she is a twin mom, she loves unicorns, knows the words to almost any song, and she actually dislikes running now. Her favorite thing in Crossfit is gymnastics. You can usually find her working out with the 11 o’clock class or at Open Gym, and if you only see her working out, she can look pretty serious, (she has RGF-resting gym face) but she’s actually super goofy and friendly so don’t judge her at first glance mid wod, she’ll be the first one to come give you a high five and say “good job!” after the work out. Her advice to those trying to become fitter through whatever avenue they choose is to just be consistent and stay positive! Find things to be proud of instead of what you wish was different. When you learn to become your own biggest cheerleader instead of your own worst critic, you will have a better time in the process. And if that’s hard for you to do, she’s happy to help get you there and be that support in accomplishing your goals!
